Presentation and Workshop Fees Dr. Latshaw has an extensive background working with honey bees. His primary area of focus deals with genetics, selective breeding, instrumental insemination and queen rearing. If you would like Dr. Latshaw to come and speak with your organization, please consider the following options, or inquire about a more customized program. Presentations: A presentation consists of a single talk 45-60 minutes in length followed by time for questions. Presentation Fee: $150.00 plus any travel and lodging expense incurred. Additional presentations may be arranged for $75.00 each, upon request. A growing interest in the area of queen rearing has also prompted Dr. Latshaw to provide queen rearing workshops in conjunction with beekeeping organizations. The organization is responsible for supplying the facility/apiary and colonies to conduct the workshop and Dr. Latshaw provides the lectures and directs the hands-on workshop activities. This is great way for organizations to promote and develop local queen rearing right in their own bee yards. In order for each participant to have an enjoyable and educational experience, it is recommend that workshops accommodate no more than 20 participants and assistants are certainly beneficial to help answer questions. Workshop: A one day workshop consists of multiple talks 45-60 minutes in length in addition to hands-on instruction and practice in the art of queen rearing. Workshop Fee: $350.00 plus any travel and lodging expense incurred. Please Note** - It can be a challenge to schedule presentations and workshops during the peak beekeeping season of April-August.
